MASTERIS supports SOLEA, the entity in charge of maintaining the Mulhouse/Vallée de Thann tram-train, in the context of a repair following an accident between a car and a tram-train in Mulhouse.

An accident between a car and a SOLEA tram-train in Mulhouse seriously damaged the driver's cab, making the rolling stock unusable. Faced with this immobilization situation, MASTERIS mobilized its experts to offer SOLEA a tailor-made solution.

An expertise offer established in less than a month

As soon as the customer agreement was received, MASTERIS structured a rapid mobilization of three technical divisions. A comprehensive range of expertise was established and delivered in less than 30 days, thanks to the synergy between MASTERIS and the various identities of SNCF Voyageurs Material:

  • The Engineering Cluster East (CIE) : for the structural analysis of the body and the cabin,
  • The Cluster Engineering Center (CIC) : for the expertise of bogies and running gear,
  • La Vie Tram-Train Series (CIC) : for components outside the case/bogie perimeter and the spare parts procurement strategy.

SOLEA renews its confidence by choosing MASTERIS for repairs

Satisfied with the level of service and the reactivity demonstrated during the expertise phase, SOLEA renewed its confidence in MASTERIS to manage the structural repair phase of the damaged train.

MASTERIS and SNCF Voyageurs Matériel organized the implementation of the work with several industrial partners of the group:

  • Saintes Industrial Technicenter : in charge of the manufacture of custom-made parts,
  • Industrial Technicenter of Nevers — Languedoc : mobilized for boilermaking and welding operations, carried out directly on the SOLEA site in Mulhouse.

Exemplary Synergy at the Service of the Customer

This mission highlights the ability of MASTERIS to combine engineering, production and maintenance skills within the SNCF group to meet the needs of its customers.

Customer testimonial

As part of the rehabilitation of a heavily damaged tram-train, MASTERIS provided Soléa with its expertise and responsiveness. Masteris's support throughout the process — from the initial diagnosis to technical expertise, to the structural repair of the train — was decisive in making the intervention safe and reliable.”

MASTERIS SOLEA in the repair of a tram-train following an accident

In Dakar, we are far from major European rail networks, so in the event of incidents it is important to be able to react quickly and independently. This is why it was important to improve the skills of the teams in lifting our Coradia machines and our work trains. MASTERIS was able to respond quickly and effectively to our expectations.

Within Hexafret, regulatory monitoring already exists on which ECE relies. However, it proved necessary to complete this monitoring in order to cover all the countries in which Hexafret operates, in particular Germany, Spain and Italy. Hexafret therefore turned to MASTERIS in 2024 to provide this service.

After a first year of collaboration, Hexafret satisfied with both the content and the contractual relationship, extended the regulatory monitoring contract in 2025. We appreciate its synthetic side.
