An SNCF group collaboration: MASTERIS and the SNCF Technicentre in Nevers

On April 26, 2021, the Rouen-Normandy Metropolis launched an open public procurement call for tenders for the general overhaul of the bogies of 27 CITADIS 402 tram trains at 600,000 kilometers away. This is an operation of the maintenance plan in the life of this rolling stock.

MASTERIS, in synergy with the SNCF technical center in Nevers, has a development strategy on the urban transport market.

MASTERIS, in industrial partnership with the SNCF technical center in Rennes, intervened until 2020 in the maintenance of the brakes of this customer's equipment, which was thus able to experience the quality of our technical services and our support.

For its part, the Nevers Technicenter has a solid experience as a maintainer: in 7 years and in addition to the maintenance carried out on its own equipment, more than 450 arpeggio bogies have been renovated in their workshops.

On July 29, the Rouen Normandy Metropolis therefore selected Masteris's offer. No negotiations were planned in this public procurement procedure. The offer given by the Masteris teams was the best, in line with the specifications and the needs of the customer.

In total, 112 bogies will be renovated for a turnover of €3.4 million.

The added value of MASTERIS: the integration of a GRB system on Citadis trains

The customer wanted to take advantage of the renovation of the bogies to integrate a new duct lubrication system (GRB). The aim is to limit the friction between the bogie wheels and the infrastructure.
Our teams have therefore contacted a specialized partner to meet the needs of the Metropolis, which has chosen this option.

The MasterIS Engineering Department is leading the integration studies of this new system on Citadis 402 trains. The equipment will be mounted directly in the maintenance workshop of the Rouen Normandy Metropolitan Area by the teams of the operator TCAR (Transdev group).

The launch review of the project took place on September 16, 2021. In the process, engineering studies for the integration (mechanical, electrical and intake) of the GRB system were launched, with prototyping in progress in the first quarter of 2022. Serial production will run from August 2022 to May 2024.

In Dakar, we are far from major European rail networks, so in the event of incidents it is important to be able to react quickly and independently. This is why it was important to improve the skills of the teams in lifting our Coradia machines and our work trains. MASTERIS was able to respond quickly and effectively to our expectations.

Within Hexafret, regulatory monitoring already exists on which ECE relies. However, it proved necessary to complete this monitoring in order to cover all the countries in which Hexafret operates, in particular Germany, Spain and Italy. Hexafret therefore turned to MASTERIS in 2024 to provide this service.

After a first year of collaboration, Hexafret satisfied with both the content and the contractual relationship, extended the regulatory monitoring contract in 2025. We appreciate its synthetic side.
