A SNCF Group collaboration: MASTERIS and the SNCF Nevers Technicentre

On April 26, 2021, the Rouen-Normandie Metropolitan Area issued an open public tender for the 600,000-kilometer general overhaul of bogies for 27 CITADIS 402 tramsets. This is a key maintenance operation in the lifecycle of this rolling stock.

MASTERIS, in synergy with the SNCF Nevers Technicentre, has a development strategy focused on the urban transport market.

MASTERIS, in an industrial partnership with the SNCF Rennes Technicentre, provided brake maintenance for this client until 2020, allowing them to experience the quality of our technical services and support firsthand.

For its part, the Nevers Technicentre has solid maintenance experience: over the past 7 years, in addition to maintaining its own equipment, more than 450 Arpège bogies have been refurbished in its workshops.

On July 29, the Rouen Normandie Metropolitan Area selected the MASTERIS bid. No negotiations were planned for this public procurement procedure. The proposal submitted by the Masteris teams was the best, fully aligned with the specifications and the client's needs.

In total, 112 bogies will be refurbished, representing a turnover of €3.4 million.

The MASTERIS value-add: integrating a flange lubrication system on Citadis tramsets

The client wanted to take advantage of the bogie overhaul to integrate a new flange lubrication system (GRB). The goal is to reduce friction between the bogie wheels and the infrastructure.
Our teams reached out to a specialized partner to meet the needs of the Metropolitan Area, which ultimately selected this option.

The MASTERIS Engineering Division is managing the integration studies for this new system on the Citadis 402 tramsets. The equipment will be installed directly in the Rouen Normandie Metropolitan Area's maintenance workshop by teams from the operator, TCAR (Transdev Group).

The project kickoff review was held on September 16, 2021. Immediately following this, engineering studies for the integration (mechanical, electrical, and approval) of the GRB system were launched, with prototyping underway in the first quarter of 2022. Serial production will take place from August 2022 to May 2024.

Thanks to the teams for their commitment!
