MASTERIS markets a new solution for modifying the Boudin Lubricator system for bogies developed by SNCF

MASTERIS markets a new solution for modifying the Boudin Greaser (GRB) system for bogies developed by SNCF in order to implement a major technical and ecological transition.
Faced with the suspension announced in 2026 by Shell of the production of bitumen oil used in the Boudin Lubricator (GRB) in bogies for most railway equipment, MASTERIS is positioning itself alongside Eurostar Group to anticipate this major technical transition.
Wheel flange lubrication, integrated into the SEF function, plays a key role in Reducing Axle and Rail Wear, thus contributing to the reliability and durability of rolling stock.
Over the past several months, SNCF has been undertaking work aimed at generalizing a New eco-compatible grease, with reinforced properties: Biological, Non-Toxic, More Efficient and Limiting Pollution Under the Box. While this new grease is already used on some recent equipment, older trains require the adaptation or complete replacement of the lubrication system.
In this context, MASTERIS is leading the development of a new GRB system For TGV trains PBA and PBKA operated by Eurostar Group. A large-scale technical operation that mobilizes the joint expertise of CIC And of CIM, with the following services:
- Completion of complete technical studies of the new system,
- Experiments on bogies and oars
- Updating technical plans,
- Management of admission procedures related to material developments,
- Supply of parts for the first modified trains.
